In 1998 Jenny and Jackie together with Kay created a swim school called ‘Splash’. July 2003 Kay left and shortly after emigrated to New Zealand.
Jenny, Jackie and Caroline changed the name to Waves which was formed in September 2003.

Just a small introduction about Waves Partners:

Jenny Ellis has been teaching for 38 years all abilities from babies to adults, learn to swim, stroke technique teaching disabled people and squad swimming. Over the years she has been time keeper, judge and referee with the Somerset and South West Amateur Swimming Association. Jenny used to be heavily involved with the Clevedon Amateur Swimming Club where she coached for many years to national standard, she is also a Past President.

Jenny also has judged at open water events throughout the country, and regularly competes in open water events throughout the summer months.

She also organises with other people the open water events that take place in Clevedon annually.

The Clevedon Annual Long Swim takes place in July or August and the Clevedon Aquathlon takes place in June or July.

Jenny & Jackie also for many years now, trained and continue to train as Marine Mammal Medics with the 'British Divers Life Mammal Rescue'. Unfortunately on our stretch of coastline we do not have a great deal of seals, dolphins or whales but you would be surprised how many seals and porpoises do come into our shores around Clevedon and Portishead, fortunately they are usually healthy specimens.

Jackie Davies has been teaching for 22 years all abilities from babies to adults, learn to swim, stroke technique, teaching disabled people and squad swimming also a Somerset Amateur Swimming Association time keeper. Jackie was very involved with Backwell Amateur Swimming Club for many years.

Jackie takes part in open water swimming in the summer months if there is no possibilities of sharks (basking) or large fish! - but she is more at home rowing in the gig boat with the 'Clevedon Giggers'.

Jackie has a good knowledge regarding ‘Child Protection’ which was a large part of her job when she was in the Police for many years.

Caroline Blunt has been teaching for 15 years all abilities from babies to adults, learn to swim and stroke technique. Caroline also helped at Backwell Amateur Swimming Club.

Caroline also takes part in open water swims in the summer months, and trains with Master swimmers in the pool.

Between us all we have a wealth of knowledge about swimming and related topics.

Besides swimming we all have many other hobbies that keep us busy as well as looking after the families even though Jenny and Jackie’s children have both flown the nest.
